Nashville, TN (April 7, 2010) – Introducing Eoghan Heaslip, releases April 20, 2010 from Kingsway with EMI CMG Distribution and features the music of worship leader, singer and songwriter Eoghan [pronounced “Owen”] Heaslip. Produced by Nathan Nockels (Tim Hughes, Matt Redman, Passion), Introducing Eoghan Heaslip includes co-writes with Brenton Brown, David Ruis and Nick Herbert and is available for $5 at both physical and digital retail outlets everywhere.

As Director of Worship for New Wine UK, Heaslip is the main worship leader for New Wine summer conferences in the United Kingdom, as well as New Wine’s leadership and regional events attended by thousands annually (www.new-wine.org). He is also the worship leader at St Paul’s Ealing London. His heart and passion is to be a catalyst, influence and resource in the areas of worship and leadership to this generation; reaching out to his peers through new expressions of worship that include the arts, multimedia and ministry to the poor. One of the chief ways that he has done this, and the one that he has come to be most acclaimed for, is his music.

“My heart is to write songs that will bless, serve and encourage the local church,” says Heaslip. “I read a brilliant Charles Wesley quote that kind of sums it all up for me as a songwriter. His goal or vision as a hymn writer was to ‘convey sublime truths in simple language’.”

Fellow songwriters Brenton Brown and David Ruis respond to Heaslip’s success as a songwriter and artist-worshipper: “Eoghan’s songs come from a deep well of faith and love for God,” confirms Brown as Ruis adds, “Having been ‘around’ the worship scene for some time now, it is truly refreshing to know someone whose songs are truly born out of grass roots integrity, honesty and community…I trust this liturgical poet and prophet - give a listen, you won’t be disappointed.”

Eoghan’s musical sound reflects the mélange of styles that modern Dublin has become famous for, with appropriate credits for inspiration from U2 and Peter Gabriel, along with worship leaders Kevin Prosch, Brian Doerksen, Martin Smith and others.

But Heaslip also points out, “I want to create music born out of the response to a call of God to a lifestyle and relationship rather than simply reflecting a musical taste or preference – songs that create an environment of intimacy. The friends I have worked with in writing for this project are worship leaders that have the very same motivations as I do.”

The Introducing Eoghan Heaslip track listing follows:
Blessing Honour
The Way That You Father Me
God Only Wise
Love Come Down
Creator King
Here On The Earth

Having released two acclaimed recordings with Integrity Music, Mercy (Hosanna! Music) and Grace in the Wilderness (Vertical Music), Eoghan’s formal training took place at the Vineyard School of Worship in Vancouver, British Columbia. He later became the worship leader and music director for the CORE Church (“City Outreach Through Renewal and Evangelism”) in Dublin, Ireland, before moving with his wife, Becky, and their three daughters to London, where they have been part of the staff team at St Paul’s church in Ealing since January 2007, overseeing worship and prayer.
